Lynx News · Lynx Weekly Football Update 7.21.19

Lynx Nation,

It’s Dead Week!! The team has been working hard this summer and it’s time to relax and re-energize. We will not host another football event until July 29th. This gives our athletes 9 consecutive days to recover for the upcoming preseason grind in preparation for Friday Night Lights!
While we will spend time away from the sport of football take a minute to check out our summer attendance accountability, additional info regarding our Fundraising Cards, and don’t forget to sign up for the upcoming Lynx Camps!
Fundraising Card Sales: We recently distributed our fundraising cards. The cards sell for $20 a piece and include numerous discounts to businesses and restaurants in the area. This fundraising is absolutely crucial for our program. We rely on these funds each year to repair equipment, feed our athletes, pay for team events, and provide our athletes with a “special” experience that many other sports simply cannot provide. We are able to do this because of the hard work that our athletes put in each summer. As I explained last week we maintain a goal of 15 sales per athlete. In doing so, we would likely sell over 1,000 cards – and when you sell over a 1,000 cards you automatically get a $1 bonus per card. Meaning, as soon as we hit 1,000 cards we automatically receive an additional $1,000 dollars.
In addition to the benefits of a successful fundraiser mentioned above, Fundraising U and our program have teamed up to provide a number of incentives for our athletes to motivate and encourage them to get out and sell! One final note, selling 0 cards is unacceptable! Conditioning planned for July 29th and July 30th is our end of summer testing which means, it will NOT be easy. You’ll find ways below that allow our athletes to earn their way out of the conditioning test or at least lighten their load if they choose!

Team Rewards:
  • Sell 500 as a Team – Hold a Team Cookout
  • Sell 600 as a Team – Team Pool Party
  • Sell 750 as a team – Purchase New Home Tops
  • Sell 1,000 as a team – Cancel A Practice for the Team Pool Party
Individual Incentives:
  • $.50 per card sold once you sell 10 cards. IE: Sell 10 Cards get $5.00, Sell 20 Cards get $10
  • $25 Gift card to Dick’s Sporting Goods for every 25 Cards you sell.
  • 1 Free Fundraising Card for every 10 Cards you Sell. Sell 10 cards get 1 free card, sell 20 cards get 2 free Cards.
  • Top Team enters Survivor cash game with the chance to win $50.
Checkpoint #2 Incentives (Monday, July 29)
  • Those attending Simpson Camp will get to choose room and roommates in order of highest total sales. Must sell a minimum of 15 to qualify.
  • Anyone selling 15 or more cards will get out of conditioning testing Monday, July 29th AND Tuesday, July 30th.
  • Anyone Selling 5 or more cards prior to conditioning on Monday (29th) or Tuesday (30th) will have their conditioning test cut in half. 0 Sales is unacceptable.
Fundraising Teams (Top Team Plays for $50 Cash!): If you are not on a team – it is likely because you did not get fundraising cards this week.

Lynx Camp Form Deadline: Lynx Football Camp Forms are due July 30th. The cost is $45 for those entering HS and $35 for grades 3-8. High School Campers will receive two shirts and two pairs of shorts to be worn as travel attire for home and away football games. Youth Campers will receive a T-Shirt. Walk-up registrations are welcome however high school walk-ups are not guaranteed apparel and youth walk-ups will need to pick up their apparel at a date to be set following camp. You may bring camp forms and fees to the main office at AL or wait until we are back in session and I will collect them at weight lifting.
Summer Attendance AccountabilityThis section likely isn’t what you think. Here’s a quick lesson for the week! We often associate “accountability” as a negative, consequential word. Someone does something wrong or doesn’t meet the standard and the immediate response is, “they need to be held accountable for their actions.” Sometimes that’s just what’s necessary. However, we also like to hold our players accountable for greatness. Accountability can be both good and bad, in this message I want to hold some of our student-athletes accountable for being awesome this summer! With that in mind, if your son is not listed and you would like their summer attendance rate send me an email and I would be glad to send it your way! Finally, you’ll notice we have a number of individuals that have an attendance rate higher than 100%. Individuals that attended spring workouts were given “extra credit”. Make sure to congratulate these young men on their consistency and hard work this summer!
125% (Perfect): Quinn Anderson, Austin Eledge, Esteban Gonzalez, Chance Higgins, Victor Martinez, Trache Sorenson.
120%: Lennx Brown, Seth Frush, Chase Riche, Ethan Russell, Carson Schaa, Lucas Spanjer
115%: Cade Nelson, Mac Volff,
110%: Jaxon Boro, Ben Fichter, Nick Garner
105%: Quinten Bradley, Mikaele Hayes, TJ Hayes
100%: Jeremiah Dogan, Jace Kepler, Max Lippert, Seth O’Neal, Steven Smith
95%: Damari Brown, Jake Daharsh, Jake Duncan, Wade Brown, Wes Brown, Riddick Bryan, Trey Foutch, Thomas Stark, Owen Wilcoxen, Drew Wilson
90%: Kaleb Molczyk, Caden McDowell, Miguel Olivares, Angel Rodriguez, Dawson Scheid
We reached a total of 89 athletes this summer with 51 attending 80% or more of our workouts! Great job fellas, keep it up we’re just over a month away from getting under the lights! And to all those who have given their time to provide rides thank you! We couldn’t do it without you!
Enjoy your break, sell a few cards, and come back ready to compete!!!
